Babylonian from Alexander Shorokhoff

German watchmaker Alexander Shorokhoff introduced its Babylonian model this year. This watch has a manually wound movement that beats at 3 Hz; it has a 42-hour power reserve.

The center of the dial display is cut out to reveal the movement, which has been polished in a “sun beam” design. Encircling this opening are the signs of the zodiac, as well as the sun and moon. The chapter ring features stars on a black mother-of-pearl background.

The watch has a stainless-steel case, 47 mm in diameter, and sapphire crystals on both the front and the back. The Babylonian comes on an ostrich strap. It is being produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces.
